Hollis Colleasure is a 30 year retired sheet metal worker from Local 105, Los Angeles, California. Hollis and Bobbie have been married 40 years and have 2 children, Debbie and Jason.  Hollis began racing in 1970 at the old Irwindale Raceway. What started as an occasional Saturday night at the track turned into Wednesdays and Fridays at Irwindale, Saturdays at Orange County Raceway and Sundays at Carlsbad. As with most racing families the kids were raised at the race tracks. In1987 Hollis expanded his schedule to include Northern California, Oregon, Idaho and the Eastern part of the United States. Since retiring in 1999 Hollis has been racing full time in the Super Catergories, Super Gas, Super Comp and an occasional Super Eliminator.
The first roadster Hollis had was a 1979 Brogie 27 Ford. This car was raced until 1986 when it crashed on Sunday afternoon at the World Finals in Pomona. It went over the wall after the finish line which completely destroyed the car. Immediately after the crash Hollis had Brogie start a new Roadster. This Roadster debute at the 1987 US Nationals. This car has gone through many changes and updates, the most notable of which is the pickup bed and surf boards. Hollis's cars have always been a little different.
The most unique car Hollis built was RAMBO LAMBO, a blown Lamborghini Countach. What really made this car special was  no one had taken a $ 200,000 car and made a drag race car out of it. The fiberglass body was mounted on a chrome moly Pro Stock chassis. The motor was a blown Chrysler mounted in the front. The magazines dubbed this car "RAMBO LAMBO".  Rambo Lambo was featured on the TV programs 'World of Speed and Beauty' and 'The Making of the English Leather Calendar'. It also appeared in just about every car magazine in the United States, Japan and Europe. It won Best of Show at a 4A ISCA car show, was on the cover of the English Leather Calendar and toured Europe doing car shows.

2008 DIVISION 7
SUPER GAS CHAMPION

What Happens in Vegas Doesn't Always Stay in Vegas....

It happened in Las Vegas!!! We cinched the championship for Super Gas. The weekend was threatened by rain.  All I could do was watch as four racers that could possibly catch me in points kept advancing. Then in round four they all lost and the biggest rainbow I have ever seen appeared. It was over, we have won the Division 7 Championship!
