SUPER GAS
Super
Gas cars race on a 9.90 index (6.30 for eight mile tracks) using a heads-up, .4 second Pro Tree. This class is
reserved for fullbody cars with full fenders, hood, grille, top, windshield, and functional doors. Bumpers are optional. The
grille may be replaced by a flat panel. Left hand-steering street roadsters are also permitted. Minimum weight , including
driver is 2,100 pounds, except four cylinder cars may be 1,200 pounds. Open wheel Altereds, Dragsters, Funny Cars,
and motorcycles are not permitted.
SUPER COMP
Super Comp cars race on an 8.90 index (5.70 for eight mile tracks) using a heads-up, .4 second Pro Tree. This
class is reserved for Dragsters, Altereds, Roadsters, Funny Cars and Pro Stock type cars. Motorcycles are prohibited. Minimum
weight, including driver is 1,350 pounds, except four and six cylinder cars which is 1,000 pounds.
To win in Super Gas and Super Comp you need to reach the finish
line first and not go faster that your index. Going faster than the index is called breaking out. You also need to leave the
starting line first by having a better reaction time, but not leaving too soon and red lighting. Many races are won and lost
by a thousandth of a second.
